Is it worth getting the GT3 Seats ???
Hi There. I'm currently motivated to buy some nice seats for MY00 Carrera 4. However, I'm having a hard time battling with myself if they are really worth it. I have no intentions of tracking my car. Just wanted to get the seats for looks. Please help.
BTW, the reason I was motivated to buy seats was because a firend of mine is selling his Sparco Speed seats for $200. All the people that I talked to said that those seats are not intended for my car since Sparcos are known to be more on Japanese cars. This made me into the groove to buy new seats for my car. However, I only plan to replace only the driver's seat due to $$$$ concerns.

Since you say this is for looks only - unless you do both... don't.
One does not at all look 'cool'...
Quite the opposite (imho)
But to answer the question, they do look very good in the cars, in pairs. I think a pair is 'worth it'.. a solo is not.
Unless you do one for actual performance reasons and are NOT doing it for the looks... then that is OK.

sparco is the official OEM supplier to ferrari for seats/etc.
so...
that said, don't get the GT3 seats just for looks, they will be too hard for you. people get these seats to get more connected to the car, not just to impress others

GT-3 seats
I have had GT-3 seats in my '01 996tt and now in a GT-3 but I use the car for driver ed events only. When I was selling my 996tt and putting it back in stock condition by removing the roll bar, GT-3 seats etc,I re-installed the stock sport seats and was delghted with the comfort. I know the GT-3 seat look cool but for every day use, stick with the stock seats.

If you are interested in getting the GT3 seats solely for their looks then don't. If you want a seat that will hold you tighter in the corners and give you better feedback from the car then get them.
You will gain head and leg room if you go for the Brey-Krause brackets, otherwise the stock GT3 seat-brackets will make you sit higher and closer (no seat height nor recline function of course).
The GT3 seats also do not breathe as well, so if you live in a hot climate or you sweat alot, you may not like them. If you hate being a contortionist everytime you get in and out of the car, you also may not like them. If your butt goes numb if you sit more than 20 minutes without shuffling around, you may not like them. If you like to use the rear seat for anything, you may not like them.
But having used them I would never get a seat in a high performance car which does not hold me at least as well, if not better. It is amazing in high speed cornering how much effort it takes just to stay planted in the stock seats. The slightly claustrophobic feeling you get in them is easy to get used to if that is what you want.

Have you every used race seats on a daily driver? You'll find that even a couple of trips around town can prove to be a real "PITA" if you know what I mean. Get the sport seats if anything.....
