Pete...all that I know is that, the reason I went "sound searching" was because I wasn't all that happy with the 1st PSE that I had. I actually never had the stock exhaust, so other than other Porsche's that I have heard, I wouldn't know about that. This 04' PSE that I have on my 3.4L car is UNBELIEVABLE!!! Huge difference between all other exhausts, except the straight pipes, which were just too much for the Cab. I do know that there are different part numbers for the two exhausts, not knowing the numbers off hand. My new 04' exhaust even has a litte "popping" when compression exists, i.e. down shifting...foot off the gas. Sounds really cool!! The sound is very loud, and very throaty, and I think "raspy" as well. Sounds like I am selling these things, but honestly, I can't tell you how impressed I am personally.

I could be wrong but I believe I believe there were 2 PSE for the 3.4 before the latest PSE for the 3.6 was released.... I think I read this on rennlist.com somewhere.... anyways... if that is the case I have version 2 of the PSE where you have version 3... mine also pops and ticks on downshift and has a cat like snarl on startup.... I had the car against the wall one day and started the car and my buddy who was standing outside just looked at me and I looked at him in awe of the "cat like snarl" that came out of the back!!!
