Damn Possums!!!!!
I was on the way to work at around 6 this morning as usual.. Came around a gentle curve doin about 55-60 or so when I see a possum just standing there, staring at me like a friggin dumbass! Being so early and reflexes not what they should be yet, I hear a thump and went right over it. Poor little guy didn't know what hit him When I got to the 7-11, I checked and saw no damage to the front and no guts hanging out the rear, which is a good thing. I don't know what I'm more disappointed in though, the fact that I hit the little guy ( I love animals ) or the fact that my car wasn't low enough to sustain damage.... I'm guessing the bottom of my bumper knocked him over and he just went under the middle of the car?

Dont feel bad..
I am sure many have seen how low my car is. It always makes for a conversation piece where ever we go. Somehow I have managed to navigate the pocked marked streets of NY without so much as scratching it. About a month ago I was driving home from Atlantic City on the Garden state parkway (straight, smooth&flat) It was 4AM I was tired and broke and traveling about 90-95 MPH when only too late I saw a large dead Raccoon in the middle of 6 lanes, Unable to react in time I hit the carcass and then heard the sound of fiberglass shredding and cracking under the car. I did not even bother stopping as I knew the front of the car would have a whole new look. When I got home I found that the force of the impact sheared the Spoiler clean off like it was never there. Needless to say ground clearance is no longer a problem but the car doesnt look right without its menacing spoiler in place..
BTW. I guess Raccoons are firmer than posssums

Haha, guess so...
Eli, when I had her out there in LA for the Player's Run, I think it was on the 101, I was following another car, probably too close... he got out of the way, I ramed into a full trash bag in the middle of the free way. Probably fell off a truck in front of him or something, who knows...

Here's my road kill picture. Hit this guy while driving to the 2004 Pony Express Open Road Race in Battle Mountain, Nevada. I don't want to tell you what speed I was going when I hit him.
The funny thing is, I didn't know he was stuck in the car until I pulled into the motel about a half hour later. The girl at the front desk was pretty freaked out.

Holly Shiate!!
Any faster and he would have been sitting next to you or at least his head would have been popping out of your AC vent!

I hit a raccoon in my first car (84 Plymouth Horizon, I'm such a pimp) so hard it snapped the shock. It's was a foggy night and I was doing about 45. And the thing was HHHUUUUGGGGEEE. The mess across the road the next morning was both lanes wide.
I've hit a bird too, right across the windshield. You see a flash of black (it was a crow), BAM!, and then see it come down and hit the road in the rear view mirror. It was kinda funny, actually. It was washing itself in the ditch next to the road and must have had water in it's eyes.

That same weekend, a bird hit my windshield during the race while doing 135mph. It was LOUD. No cracked windshield though.
