Ok so here it is. This guy is a liable Power Seller on Ebay and sells a ton of these turbo kits on Ebay.

What is this kit. Is this a joke? Anyone ever seen this before?

Or for around $1500 you can even get the full intercooler plus extras

This seller certainly moves a lot of merchandise. I do not see how any of it could be of any quality. Just a bunch of cheap imported junk. Seems people will buy just about anything.

Yes, I agree but how is he making money for selling a turbo kit for only $299.99. It has to be junk but after reading stories on google some people are running these on there cars for 2 years and have been fine. Interesting but probably not worth the risk

I bought a set of headers on ebay for my last car

The price was really low but I got them just to see, my mechanic said they were very nice quality, They are still on the car today 2-3 years later, wish I could find that seller again for my current car. But 300 for a kit like that seems to good to be true !!

yup, just some purdy shiny parts slapped together.

Most of the ebay turbo kits will not have any type of engine management systems as that is what makes a turbo kit. Any monkey can slap together parts but only a few have the talent and knowledge to properly tune a system for combination of maximum driveability, reliability and performance.

Just get one of these instead and say you have over 100 more horses and call it a day:

Okay, it sounds too good to be true at prices ranging from ~$300 to ~$1500+.
But with everything "Made in China" these days by viritually everyone or -company, maybe this is possible?

Can "qcraftsman" link us to "...stories on google some people are running these on there cars for 2 years and have been fine..."?

Thanks

Did you notice the prancing horse on the front fender of that ebay ad? Can people really be that fickle?

There really isn't THAT many parts to a turbo kit, but extensive R&D is required to make it all work it's way to the wheels without blowing up an engine. I wouldn't think anything can be made for 300 dollars that would really work. You can probably take 75% of the parts in that ad and throw them in the garbage, then start building. It's called "universal," which to me means "won't work"

People that have been running these for 2 years are the highschool kids that are using these on Honduhs and just getting lucky(not to mention doing additional tuning and adding parts themselves).

Trust me, no one has been running these at all on Porsches. How the hell would something like the intercooler fit anyways? Playing devils advocate, even if you could get away with just using a simple RRFP(rising rate fuel pressure regulator) to control your fuel, what about the fuel pump, injector duty cycles, ignition timing?

Okay, so a lot of tunning, additional parts, mods and adjustment are likely needed by an experienced tunner or technician.

But my point was that parts in itself may not be simply trash even though ultimately it may not be compatible and require all of the above. To illustrate how cheap things can be made in china, look at DVD players @ 29.99 in Walmarts... all made in china and they work fine. They used to be hundreds... -o-

At $299 you can buy the **** until it breaks and keep getting more whenever you need. Just ask the guy if you can pick up 3 sets to have spares and try to get a discount.

I could almost guarantee you the engine will go first before the kit. Just pay me that amount for a plane ticket and I will personally do the same thing for you but with a smile.

TPC should have their 996 single turbo kit available soon. Beware that I was told by a reputable porsche mechanic that putting one on a 3.4L (thats what I have that is only tracked) will eventually cause some damage. Motor was not built to handle that power especially on the track. I'm sure there are exceptions out there and one might run forever without any problems. I was looking into the TPC kit but we will see what the price is!!
