It was a toss up between a few cars when I was looking to a sports car. I wanted a Z06 vette. Even though the bang for the buck is better the Porsche is by far the better sports car. On paper the cars are what they are. After you drive the 2 you will know which is the car for you. After all we do buy sports cars to drive, don't we? So drive them and decide!

In my situation I have found very few cars that can match the driving experience my Porsche gives me every time I'm in it.

your gonnna get the wrong answers here....most of the porsche guys will say porsche and vette guys will say vettes....i had a vette before and i was about to get another one after mine was totaled, and i just came across a good deal on the 911....but saying that i would defiantly get in another vette again...''

good luck...and remember there is no wrong decision...you be happy either way !~!

Your going to have to service the car...would you rather go to a Porsche service center or the Chevy garage? Personally, I don't want my car touched by the same guy that services pickups.

Part of it depends on what you've been driving.

If you've driven standard American cars all these years and you're just thinking about "getting into a sports car," then you'll probably be happier with a Vet.

It will accepted by your neighbors, it will drive more like what you've been driving, it will have more familiar servicing and probably be serviced by a dealer closer to your home. It will also give you the street-light to street-light acceleration you'll enjoy.

Not only in forums but in publications as well. It's a decades-old rivalry. 911 vs Corvette, even though they are completely different cars.

Vette vs Porsche

It's all about which one puts the biggest smile on your face. Drive both and go with your instinct. They're both great cars. I love my Porsche, but there is a black vette in my neighborhood that looks and sounds awesome when he drives by my house. I also have a BMW M3 which is another car you should look at. It drives differently from the Porsche, a bit more relaxed for going back and forth to work. Good luck with your choice.

Lets help the guy out here, and not let pride and or our own justifications as to why we bought whatever car enter into the conversation!

^What else do you have to go on, but personal experience? Anything else is just speculation.

Saying would you rather have a Porsche or a Chevy is in no way helping him make a decision! However the people who have posted that owned both cars and compared the differences between them do lend something to this thread.

If the prerequisite for posting in this thread was that you have owned both makes, I think it would be dead in here.
