i counted 3 of us that said we had owned both, & that was just on this thread! red light to red light the porsche cannot touch the vette, but its not suppose to, the porsche is not a drag car, when i was looking at some porsches what suprised me the most was they didn't have the hp that you would have thought that it being a porsche, i guess when i thought of porsche i thought of speed & raw power, its just a different kind of speed, definitely have to throw in some twists & turns & a top end. it definitely sounds better to say you own a porsche than a vette, & i'm not a porsche or nothing kind of guy, hey i've even been looking at some vipers lately.

Well I dont want to be a poser with a Porsche avatar if I dont own one. I am a huge Porsche fan but the Vette works for me better at this time for a number of reasons. I would like to add a 996 some time soon, thats why I look/post on this forum.

My "" post was because Im not familiar with the "small eyes" comment and was curious as to what it meant.

Small eyes = Asians. Doesn't fit the typical Corvette stereotype.

Friends have Both a 2007 zo6 and a 2002 911 turbo, driven both I personaly Liked the zo6 more cause it was substantialy faster on the highway but If you Can't Handle Raw power You should pry get the Porsche. If you think you can handle the wheel spin of the zo6 then get that. I drive a 900hp 5.0 with a 6 speed so I'm a raw power kinda guy though so , Good luck with w/e you get cant go wrong with either.

I haven't checked the rules, but I think this is fine. However, you are not allowed to own a Porsche and like Corvettes.

Porsche ist am besten

My German is not so good but you get the message. Just came back from Stuttgart. All porsche owners should go there sometime, and drive the autobahn. I didn't see any Vetts there.

If you want something special I wouldn't get a vette. I literally see dozens of them on sunny days whereas I barely ever see another 911 in my area. Even if you get a juiced up vette, they don't look special compared to the standard one. The interior, the looks, and the overall performance of the 911 is something special. I own an '03 C4S and absolutely love it.

Now I also own an '05 GTO which has the 400 HP LS2 vette engine in it. There is no doubt, no question that this engine is amazing. I definitely prefer this car for highway cruising and will take it over the 911 if I have a freeway slog to do. Plus my interior is really pretty nice compared to the vette. But although the LS2 engine is simply lovely, you have to look at the full package and looking at the big picture you get a lot more for your money with a 911 than anything that General Motors makes.

Ask the same question on Vette forum and the answers will be totally the opposite.

Beauty, comfort performance is in the eye of the beholder.

Drive both, be objective, and decide.

my guess is you'll wheel the Porsche
