heavy rains, car was outside. i didn't even know until when i was driving and was wondering why nothing was coming out of my speakers. when i opened the trunk to check on the amps, this is what i found.

anyway, was able to find out the cause. there are 3 drains by the firewall and they were all blocked by dirt, leaves, sludge. so when it rained, water couldn't go anywhere but into the trunk.

therefore, guys, you'd all have to clear up those drains by removing the 3 top covers where the battery is, look for them and just clean them up.

this had now become a must-do for me during every oil change.

Where are the drains that became plugged? Do you have a photo of them?

Unfortunately, I don't have any pics. I just drove it to my indy and gave him specific instructions to find the drains underneath those covers. I got the lead thru a phone call to a Porsche mechanic in SoCal to whom my friend referred me to. The drains shouldn't be hard to find. My indy used a wet-dry vac with the long attachment to suck up all that caused the blockage.

You're driving a 911, not a Cayenne! Just kidding!

Nope, not the seals. My seals are in excellent condition. The drains were confirmed to have been clogged.

Does anyone have a Porsche drawing that shows the rest of us EXACTLY where to locate these 3 drain holes?

As I had mentioned, they can be found underneath the 3 covers between the trunk and the firewall where the battery is at. I will talk to my indy tomorrow to get the details on exactly where to locate them as he was able to find them. As my car will be at the audio shop tomorrow for the amp replacement, I won't be able to take the covers off and locate them myself. But if I do get the chance, I will try to do so and if I find them, I will take some pics.

How did you drive through that much water and not draw it into the intake manifold seeing that it's lower than the windshield?
