Tiptronic Service Results

Just had my 02 tiptronic trans serviced.
Car had 54k on it and what a difference!
There was a slight vibration previously that I just attributed to the way the car drove. Now very little vibration if any at all. Amazing!

I did have the filter and gasket changed.
But nothing else.
If you've got the Mercedes trans then make sure you've got at least six qts of ATF standing by. Not sure how many qts are needed for the ZF trans.

Fairly sure up to 01 is ZF and 02 on uses the Mercedes trans.
Each uses a different type of ATF.

Up through '01 the fluid is Pentosin. What fluid do the '02+ cars use? How much was the service? Thanks.

There are probably several you can use but I used Mercedes ATF for the 722.6 transmissions. I can get that fluid for under $10 so went that route.
Sorry, don't know what the cost was because the shop that did it is a good friend of mine and there was no charge. I'm guessing labor shouldn't be more than $100-$200. You do need to get the car up to operating temp to measure the level.
