Geek Squad For Double Din NAV Install?

Anyone use the Geek Squad of Best Buy to handle this installation? Curious to know if you would trust these guys with the work. I have an 01 cab, the AC unit is already lowered and I have cupholders on top of the radio. So I would basically have them remove the cupholders and stock radio and install whatever unit I end buying.

Thoughts?

I wouldn't have best buy (geek squad or not) touch anything - especially my Porsche.

absolutely not .... some 17 yr old kid is not going to take the time to do it right or the way you'll want it done. Do it yourself, a quick search will result in plenty of diy tutorials.

Maybe a 80's Chevy citation, but a nice car, much less a Porsche??? No way in hell, BestBuy might have low prices, but their people are generally entry level. IN all seriousness, take it to a professional.

Apparently the Manhattan guy somewhere on the west side near 10th ave has a lot of experience with Pcars. It was a bit far for me so I had it done in NJ. Am very happy with the result.

with that install kit from the guy on ebay installs are a breeze! Complete install kit with plug n play wire harness. Also notice the cool "Porsche" logo at bottom.

Put it in your self!! Why pay $200 for something you can do in 60 minutes?

To relocate AC just buy the appropriate lower bezel - job done!

euromotorspeed - ebay member

They are out of stock - maybe a group buy can happen??

I bought the same kit from euromotorsports on ebay... worth every penny... Fit and finish is perfect. I called him before placing the order and he reminded me to specify that I was replacing a factory bose system in the C4S so that he could modify the wiring harness he was sending to work with the factory amp.

Install was pretty much a piece of cake. If you have installed a car stereo in anything using a metra harness, it is the same deal in the pcar.

Will this also work with a post 2002 car. I have a 2004 c4s and I understand that it has the bose "most" system which is a problem with aftermarket radios.

Never thought I might be able to get a decent radio and nav for under $3,000.

Wow!!

I wouldn't let any installer touch your car that you don't know his work beforehand. FYI: I have known some Best Buy guys that are good installers but mostly entry level.

Ide be okay with having best buy do mine. Only the one that my buddy instals at though!!! For example my buddy installed for 3 yrs at custom sounds (a high end car audio dealer) and has been at best buy for over 5yrs as the install mgr. Theres realy not a whole lot of since to insalling a radio.. HECK even lil thugs can properly UNINSTALL your whole surround system in seconds....LOL

+1 for knowing the installer's work... In most cases, the DIY tutorials and vids are enough for you to walk yourself through and not have to A. Pay somebody to do it or B. Pay somebody to do it and do a mediocre job... Ultimately, you'll be proud to know you did the work yourself...and you get to know your car better as well.

I replaced the CDR23 in my '05 C4s with a Pioneer AVIC unit. Bose amp was replaced but Bose speakers retained. Very pleased. As others have said, check out Eurospeed on Ebay, their kit is THE item.
