My girl is finally out of surgery!
After a 4200 mile round trip to Parade this year from Las Vegas, I found a small leak under the rear of the engine. Turned out to be the RMS. Not complaining though, the 99 C2 Tip has a bit over 120k miles. While the engine and tranny were out, we decided to do the LN Engineering IMS bearing retrofit, replaced the oil separator, some water hoses, o rings, torque converter seal, and anything that would prolong her life while her heart and soul were exposed. Unfortunately, the air compressor went out before the trip and I did the 120k service a few days before the surgery. A bit over 6k for all the work done over a month. Luckily the magical surgeon Kent Moore at Premier Sportscar Service is meticulous, **** and a perfectionist. The P-Car is back and hopefully with a new lease on life!

Yes, that is the car. I'm hoping the part replacements we did while the engine was out last long enough to get my money's worth. Not sure if there are other weak links internally that could cause the engine to implode. The only other part we could have replaced was the starter but it was working fine.

Cars that are rarely driven and hardly ever driven hard come off worst. It's always the gently driven, low mileage cars that go. Sorry to hear of your misfortune.
