Alignment spec on a lowered 996 c4s w. H&R springs
Hi guys,
Searched the forum, unable to find any pertinent info's. I just put some H&R springs on my c4s. Not too sure if I can just take it to a reular shop for an alignment, or do I need to go with someone who knows what they're doing?! From my knowledge, a regular computerized alignment has all the info on models/make of the cars, and the mechanic just align according to the data. True?! This is a dd and I do not auto x anymore. Thx.

Yea, after installing the coil overs, my car was aligned at a regular shop with good results. Their computer had the specs, but I gave them a print out I found online anyway. But of course, if u go to a shop with lots of p car experience, It may give u more confidence but will cost more. I paid $110 for mine I think others goes for $175 ish.

A computerized alignment machine is more than adequate. I have mine done with -.8 deg camber up front and -1.8 deg camber in the rear. That was the max I could get with stock control arms and links and the ROW 030 suspension. With H&R lowering springs, you may have a hard time getting the rear toe or camber to come in to the stock of -1.5 deg. I had trouble with the spec when I had the H&R's in. I pay $79.00 and my specs are now stored in the computer on the alignment machine.

I have a C2 so not sure about AWD. My car is a DD plus I do about 15 track days a year. I ended up with the "GT3 alignment spec" plus some extra camber (-1.5F and -1.8R). I've had this setting for a while and feel this to be perfect for what I need.
Updated GT3 (mk1)/GT3 (mk2)/GT3 RS specs:
Height:
911 GT3 M002 = road version and 911 GT3 M003 = Club Sport version are the same as far as adjustment is concerned.
The GT3 - from model year 2004, is also offered in USA. The values listed are valid for RoW and USA.
The GT3 RS (as of model year 2004) is not offered in the USA (August 2003 version).
