996 C4S Full leather interior question

I have a 2003 C4S with full leather...have had it 4 years and should know the answer to this but want to be sure - is the horseshoe trim surrounding the radio and AC controls leather? Looks it. Ordered a new piece cause mine had some issues. The new one is definitely plastic and does not look exactly like my piece...can someone verify? Thanks

It's not in my C4S with full leather, but I believe it was an option.

c4s full leather

I have a 2004 C4S with full leather. My "horseshoe" is definitely NOT leather. Not sure if it was an available option. In process of replacing with CF

Tell you what - I have been scrubbing mine with warm soapy water. It is definitely leather. The plastic one (Porsche OEM) one is not as black and has zero grain on it. Mine has some sort of top layer goo - I am thinking from armor all. If it was plastic - I could not press my fingernail into it like I am.

If you remove it, you should be able to see where the leather was folded over and glued down on the back side. The edges should be pretty obvious.

Mines off so I'll look ar the back of it when I get home tomorrow.

Maybe is soft touch paint. you can dent it with your fingernail. I hate soft touch, that's why i replaced everything with carbon fiber.

Well let me just put the problem out there - the top of the horseshoe started getting sticky and shiny - real sticky. Not down the sides - just on top and around the large bolsters. I am assuming it is armor all reacting with leather - but has anyone had this problem? Like I said, ordered a new piece but it looks too different than mine. Mine looks better than the new one. if I can get rid of sticky and shiny feel and look - I'd be thrilled.

Was that OEM? I know it was not applied before I bought it one year old.
