This one belongs to a friend of mine. Not a fan of its angularity [ like the softer Miura lines] but the sound of the V12 engine is unmatched . He has a Diablo as well .

Countach was my boyhood dream car and when the 25th anniversary model came out, I nearly $hit myself. Even with the US bumpers, it looked great to me.

I was lucky enough to see 3 on the road so far.

Thumbs up

That video captures the sound that's music to any gearhead's ear . One time we stopped front of a chinese restaurant and my friend revved his engine like this guy in the video .The chef from the kitchen ran out to see what it was . People just swarmed around the car . I'm going to make some video in the future with my companion [ 99Viper GTS , 99 Ferrari 550 Maranello, 2007 Noble M400 and the 1989 Countach ] running together .

Dear lord you know actually know someone who own a noble m400 and someone who owns a countach?
That's a seriously outstanding group of A-listers. I'd kill to get inside a Countach or diablo dude. I know I sound like a 7 year old but I worshipped those cars as a kid and the bug never went away.

I visited Italy not too long after the car was introduced. Driving down a small road near Rome in an even smaller rental Fiat, I looked ahead to see a white Countach. The impact of its styling has been muted by so many other angular designs over time. But then...being the first...it was astounding. It looked like something had landed from another planet.

And yet....I tend to be drawn to cars from earlier times.

Porsche - 904; '65 356 SC; '69 European version 911S.

Especially cars from about 1929-1932. Long hoods; "better" brakes than in previous years; torque rather than horsepower...beautiful styling and (relatively) straighforward mechanical designs....oh yeah, and electric starters.
Although these days, tobacco doesn't come loose in a small cotton bag so you can roll your own. Those little bags were used to help the windshield wipers. (Rub a fresh bag across the windscreen to help the rain come off in sheets.)
"Collector" cars are wasted on me. I get the idea of art; I don't relate well to cars as investments. If it's a true investment, you wouldn't drive it. I've always respected Leno for buying what interested him and driving what he bought. Whew....some of his cars are quite a production to drive.

the countach is still a shock to see in real life. saw on about two weeks ago in NYC. yellow countach driving down 2nd ave in the low 50s at about 10pm.

i am a fan of cars done well. they definitely dont have to be a half million dollars to turn my head, if they look and perform well

I realize I am becoming a post-***** on this thread but saw this fellow on the street today and had to snap a few quick pics to share....definitely a head turner. Steering wheel on the right, pretty rare I see one on the road.

Damn, never heard a Lambo Countach sound like that before. Hard to believe that is 12 cylinders there(in a good way).

How about a Noble M400 or a Porsche 959? Turn some heads for sure.
