WTB 38K to spend 996 c4S
#16
not naive at all. My 580 WHP supra destroyed my fathers 996 turbo and so did my 11.3 second 430 WHp corvette zo6. I am not a beginner with pwer or driving.
I simply do not want to buy a turbo unless its a 997 because its a far superior car. that is all.

Not sure I agree........approx 90% of the people I see at DE events, the car is faster than they are, even without a turbo or two.
Hey.....I might be willing to sell my absoutly MINT 996 C4S with tons of upgrades for $38K!

Oh no apology needed. I think my workds came off a little standoffish. I just simply dont want the expense of a turbo I am driving every day. But even those two cars I had never had enough power.
At a point where i cant afford to loose my license cause I drive around some and I have a lead foot with my audi right now that I am selling. And this thing is ligh years slow compared to a c4s.
Your car sounds amazing. But a blk/blk stock c4s with twists and sport exhaust couldnt be any more perfect. Kinda fell out of the modification stage and more into investments.
Thanks for the interest though....

If I get a 997 i want a C4s need awd. I suck at driving in snow otherwise. And they havent depreciated enough. ANother year they will take a big hit when new model is released. The 996s pretty much done falling in price. Cant go much farther down.

Sounds like you know exactly what you want! Just remember "The person who pays the Piper, calls the tune".
The two are diametrically different - SUV vs Sportcar.
I had a similar choice and the 996 won out.

Well there are 2 black ones on Fleabay......
But and 996 C4S is not going to be an "investment"....at least not a good one.
Ok .....maybe an investment in driving pleasure.

I decided on the range rover since I can extend the warranty and its automatic. In three years Ill get a 997 turbo and be even more excited. Car is a 2008 range rover sport nonsupercharged with 51k miles and has a warranty until 85k miles for $32,000 out the door. Its a luxury so has exactly what I want. The car is on ball with auction and perfect shape. Thank you everyone for there inputs. Thankfully my parents have porsches so I will still frequent the boards....
