2004 Carrera RSR

I came across a 2004 Carrera RSR for sale. Can anyone tell me about them? I have never heard of that model.

RSR is the race vaersions that run in the GT classes. They are the next step up from the cup car. If I remember correctly they run LeMans GT2 class as well as Petit LeMans GT2. They also run in the Rolex series and Speed World Challenge.

Tribute Car?

That would make sense if this were a track car. Near as I can figure it is a standard Carrera with a supercharger and some aero components; a tribute car if you will. Here is the link:

Looks like a standard 996 coupe with some body modifications and a aftermarket RSR label. Don't see anything about a supercharger. If you are seriously interested in the car I am in the Chicago area and could take a look at it for you.

IF you scroll through the pictures at the bottom it does show an engine bay shot that shows the charger. But yea it is just a regular porsche with body mods and a sticker.

Thanks all for the input and confirmation. I spoke with the dealer and the car has been sold. As i mentioned in my second post, it looked like a aero kit mod on a standard C2S, and that is exactly what it was. I wasn't interested in a purchase so much as figuring out what the heck it was pretending to be.

Well I hope some sucker didn't fall for it. If it's someone local, I hope I don't have to be the one to break the bad news if I ever meet the owner at a local meet.

Doesn't even have sport seats at the very least and I believe all RSR and Cup models come naturally in white only. Easy to also look under and see if there are Sachs Race Coilovers with external Resorvoirs.

One of many things that would raise the obvious flag.
