New JRZ double adjustable coilovers

If you've never tracked your car, and its your intention to do so, I'd suggest you spend some time doing that first and then deciding on what you think needs improving. No one ever seems to believe this, but improving the driver first is the way to go. The reality is that its a lot easier to learn how to go fast in a low HP stock suspension car than in a 'done' high HP one. When you can truly drive what you have to the maximum or thereabouts, then its time to improve it.

what is the problem with modding your car on this board? im not trying to build the best track car just a fun car that i can drive on the street. by the way with the double adjustables you can adjust them to ride very good on the street if your not on the track.

I've got no problems doing mods, BTW. I've done a few to my street car and more to my track car than you could possibly imagine, well over 60K in the past three years. This stuff is a disease. And I'll make you a bet that if you get hooked on track, you won't even be driving your cab on the track in a year or so, you'll buy a dedicated car instead. If you want to see just how insane you can get go to my web page and check out what I've done to this car over the last three years.

i have nothing agasinst modding cars. soem of my cars are mod up to wazoo that make ruf look like stock oem stuff. but my point is that porsche has factored in many many situations to made the car good for most of the situation. ANY, i repeat, ANY tuner or aftermarket parts are INFERIOR to oem parts unless you have a narrowly defined purpose. i have moton on two of my cars. i HATE driving them on streets. every bump, dip, curb cuts, i have to slow down to 2mph, else i won't make it. i life is SF,CA. i rather walk or crawl than driving my gt3 b/c if i hit a bump, my glasses falls off my nose. i am not exaggerating. it is that stiff. also, i have mono ***** on the car and it's noisy. those who tell you double adj coil overs are QUIET are just full of it. they are not, you will hear squeaks and all.
finally yes, it's double adjustable and if you use soft springs, the ride may be ok. but unless you have a full time technician working for you, you WILL NOT be doing any adjustments. it's like just clicking off compression and rebound by x clicks on street and y clicks on track. each time you change cmpression you have to match rebound, then match front to rear, then possibly change the nitrogen pressure. even if you are will to do that, it's very hard to reach the adjustment *****. you can mount the reservoir under the car in in the cabin. if under car, you can't get to it unless you jack the car up. if inside cabin, you have to crawl to the back near the shock tower to get to the adj. i am 35 yrs old and very athletic and small in size. i have trouble getting the the adj know. the fact of the matter is you WILL not be adjusting the adj shocks.
if you want a stiffer suspension, try oem like x73 or x74 (i can't remember which).. these aren't adj, but you will be happier with it as they are quieter and you don't have to second guess yourself if the adj is correct. when i adj mine, i take it to track drive it adj it and have my machanic drive it and adj. takes all freaking day.
