Wife hates my 911
I bought my first 911, a 1999 C2, in August as a weekend/fun car and absolutely love it. The car is in great shape mechanically, mileage is not bad, and my mechanic gave it two thumbs up on the PPI (after two others I looked at failed the PPI). My wife, however, hates it. It is too small, too loud and (shocker) doesn't ride like her Lexus RX. She doesn't understand why I like it, and can't believe I spent money on it. If I buy another one, there's a good chance she will go off the deep end and leave me.
My question is this: with a $55,000 price target, should I go for a 2007 C2 now or are the 2009's enough of an improvement that I should wait a couple of years for them to come down into my price range?
Thanks in advance.

My wife is not a big car fan, but she loves me so she tolerates my hobby. I don't give her a hard time about her 12 handicap either.
Besides, ask her if she would rather you be a big gambler, drinker, or womanizer.

Unfortunately, mine is not a convertible. Or did you mean she enjoys riding in it with her top down?

My wife loves my 911. She wants me to get a 911 turbo cab next. As soon as I'm finished paying for my two kids to go to college (first one starts this year), then I might just have to get a turbo!

I suggest spending the money on an '04 or '05 GT3

How does the model year relate to your wife's likelihood of leaving if you buy another 911? Is it the timing? Or is she less likely to leave you if you buy a 2009 vs. a 2007? Or are you looking for rationale to put off the inevitable?

I feel your pain. Over time her hatred will pass
