Also, why post a dyno video and title it with "at the crank" numbers?
Most 3.4L (296hp) put 247hp to the wheels. So Vivid Racing has made 155hp to the wheels, thats over 181hp increase at the engine.

No internal mods. Despite what most people think the 3.4L internals are very strong and beefy and can handle up too 500hp. The weak part of the engine is the cooling system, I had Vivid Racing inspect the whole engine for cracks and wear, then upgraded the cooling system with a GT3 3rd Radiator and 160 Degree Thermostat, and added a AEM Water/Methanol Kit, this combination keeps the engine nice and cool, preventing detonation and heat related issues.

You can read up on my thread VR996CT. The Team at Vivid is great and can answer any question you have.

Sorry guys to bring up a thread from the dead. I hate it when guys do that on supraforums but i'm curious seeing as I'm getting into 996's now. Did Dan stop production of this kit?

toymr2trd if vivid doesn't build the kit any more, TPC still has a turbo kit option for the 3.4 and 3.6 996.

Thanks guys. I really liked how Vivid made that one look nice and clean as far as installation goes and the wonderful California stealth look. Not digging the TPC one for some odd reason.

Thanks so much for the input guys. I'm about to pick up a C4S and wanted to go with this kit. I may have to do some additional research on the TPC one maybe I can ask Dan to build that C.F. overlay ;-P and hide that intercooler or ask my buddies that do fabrication. Hhmmmm

Best Regards,

Best Regards,
have you looked at 996 turbo prices ? last i checked they werent a million miles away from c4s prices, especially once you start talking about adding expensive kits to the c4s, get a turbo if you want serious power, tune and exhaust gets you a ton more and the sky is the limit after that

VERY true my friend ....VERY true. I may just go that route and avoid all this.

Seeing as you have a 996T. I'm curious how difficult it is to work on that car vs. the C4S. I'll have to do additional research on this one now and make sure I find one that hasn't been beaten to death.
