Need an inexpensive solution to not having enough headroom
6SPEEDERS;
I have an 01 Cab and am wanting to spend some time doing DE. Unfortunately i'm 6'4, with a 32'' inseam, which means I have a VERY long torso. I have the leather full power sport seats currently. With a helmet, I simply don't fit. I've looked into lowering the seats (not possible). So I think I need an inexpensive drivers side race seat that is very low that i can install for the occassional weekend de. I need 2" of additional torso room. THere is DEFINITELY room to make that happen with the right seat. Any suggestions, help, availible seats? I'm also pretty wide in the shoulder region.

Inexpensive race seats don't exsist. Try a Sparco EVO2 or similar sized Recaro seat. Most use side mounts and that will lower the overall height of the seat. There are some knocks offs out there, but with a seat you get what you pay for. Many shops have different versions in stock that will allow you to sit in them and discuss mounting options. Good luck in your search.

If you go this route, just make sure there's no previous stress cracks or worn mounting points.

Corbeau makes some decent buckets that are probably fairly inexpensive. I had a pair in my miata because they were the cheapest I could find at the time (cheapest reputable company, at least, I didn't want to get some pep boys or ebay brandless buckets). It wasn't the greatest seat ever but if you need something inexpensive to gain you a little headroom, that'd probably be the way to do it, IMO.

You can get new FIA cert. fixed back seats for under 500 including brackets/sliders/mounts. You'll be saving 30-40 lbs and seats will sit at least a couple inches lower.
I'd go go that route and switch in/out.
