Which radar detectors do you guys use and trust?
I'm finally in the process of moving to a province where they are legal and am looking at my options.... i came across this article:
http://www.radartest.com/article.asp?articleID=9090
and i was convinced i was going with a V1 until i read this, has the V1 finally become outdated?
let me know what you guys are running and what your opinions are.
thanks!

I have both, Passport in the X5 and V1 in the 996, and I think that both are great. I like the arrows and bogey counter on the V1, but I get much fewer false signals from the passport. The difference in falsing is significant enough that my wife notices... if that says anything. The remote display is a great feature on the V1 also.
I'd say that it's a toss-up. I think the V1 is rock solid, with some nice features that the passport does not have. I also like the fact that it is upgradable in the future. On the other hand, I think the Passport technology is much better at filtering out false signals.
All depends on what is important for you...

I have the Passport 8500 and a lot of people think that the V1 is the only upgradable one, but the 8500 is too. It's all about which one you want. Both save asses. One tells you where the fuzz is, the other tells you "approx." where the fuzz is, for $100 less. Then again, I'm 20 and in school, so $100 is significant.
