3.4 vs 3.6

ok i know the 3.6 is faster than the 3.4 ......what i want to know is how noticeable is the difference? can you feel it?

99-01 is more in my price range but 02-04 seems like the better deal as a whole package.

I think it has more to do with the power curve on the 3.6 being wider due to the Variocam +... just the 20HP increase is probably not as noticeable in normal driving.

the 3.6 has better durability . 03 04 are the best years for the 996.

auto or stick ????

I'm looking around at the 02-03's

Do you guys know if the auto has more problems or would you say the 6 speed tends to have more problems?

When I say problems I'm talking about engine failure and other things that might make you upset.

I've always gone with the manual. But would like to try a cs4 with an automatic .

Or should I just stick with the rwd 6 speed ?

some say the tips are less prone to failure but it's all just speculation. get what ever floats your boat . try to purchase the best car you can afford and get a PPI . Excellence magazine had a good article about 996 cars last month. i suggest you check it out.
I love the wide body 996 but i don't care for all wheel drive. i really like the 40th anniversary 911 the prices are starting to drop on them. the 3.6 996 with the aero kit is a beautiful car. or maybe an 05 997 , starting to see some lower prices on them also. take your time purchasing , there are lots of 996 cars out there for sale.
