PPI can be done for less by an indy shop
A local shop to me offered to do one for $100 in VA. The dealer was about $180 and a local Porsche indie was $160.
If you're going to spend the dime, go with a 2002 or later with the 3.6.

Before the 02,I was looking at an 05 with 50k miles...not for 37k,but 43k
I would love to know where you're finding these deals?
They don't appear to be in my neck of the woods.....

Hey Cool T - I am not finding deals that some of the forum members are talking about either. I have searched on cars.com, autotrader.com, and craigslist without any distance limitation. Congrats on your new ride. Enjoy it.

You could buy my old 40th edition for that money.
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Porsc...fCarsQ5fTrucks
It has a new clutch, throwout bearing, AOS, and brake pads. All of those done within the last year. Car was running great. I just upgraded to a 997tt.

I live in Raleigh and have a much better deal for you. 26k miles, Arctic silver with black interior, all the right options, records. Perfect car. Do not know if this reply is ok or how to get in touch with you.

I can't send you a pm since I don't have enough posts. Can you email me more info on the car and send pics? My email address is caranthoo@yahoo.com. I can come check out the car if things look good.

First off i dont think 01 with such low milage have to be beneficial to purchase.Look like garage queen.I personally have no problem buying higher miles cars if they pass inspection. They been driven and use as is good for the vehicle.
Other hand the price is not necessary ripoff.Used car market is hot right now and prices increased slightly already and if this one is what you like buy and enjoy and fu** anybody else opinion.
Just mine 32 cents

After spending a lot of time researching 2001-2004 Carreras, I don't think those prices are extremely high. Its the mileage that makes them a couple thousand more. If you look at C2/4 with over 50k miles then the prices start to decline and they decline again once you hit the 80K range. Plus, if its a Porsche dealership, they are going to offer a limited warranty on their certified pre-owned cars, which cost approx $3,000.00.

Too much to ask for that car. The 996 is the highest production model Porsche ever put out short of the Cayenne and that car isn't worth more than low 20's. Funny because a similar 993 is older and worth more.
