Cement truck hit my Porsche

Cement truck hit my Porsche
We are having a house built and I drove out to see the slab being poured. The truck did not see my car and backed into her. Grrrr. The times on the pictures are off by one hour happened around 9am this morning.
Well the good news is that no one was hurt and she is not hurt to bad. I will get new side markers getting rid of the pumpkins and going clear. I am wondering if I should go OEM bumper or go with a Turbo / GT style bumper. I like the looks better then stock bumper. What do you guys think? Which bumper? Or should I stay totally stock?
The bully!
Before the bully backed into my Lady.
My hurt baby!
Gouged the bumper, broke the head light and creased the fender. Also had a piece of cement or something hit the hood and put a small dent in the hood.
The lines are all way off as you can see. I hope there isnt anything else wrong. I drove her to the body shop that the dealers uses and dropped her off. A good thing is that my friend for many years works there and will be going all the work.

i wouldnt be too upset when the insurance only covers the painting and R & R of the piece. from the looks of it, it can be refinished nicely and will only get 3 hours of paint time. the fender and light are another story.
I wouldnt press your luck for a new bumper.

Thanks for the close up... you might just get lucky. I hope you do so that you can potentially upgrade.
I worked in a shop for years and with the costs of insrance these days, comanies are not as easy going as they once were. In the shop i was in, this could be repaired in and hour. Plastic bond/welding is fairly simple and the insrance would rather have us fix it for another $100 of time than forking out another grand. State Farm was the worst about this.
The Gemballa looks great on your car! DO IT!!

Just a flesh wound!
Bummer of a day, but at least it's not too bad. I think we all had a much different picture in our head when we saw the title "Got hit by a cement truck!"
Hopefully everything works out and you have a good enough sense of humor to turn it into an amusing bar story of being run over by a cement mixer.

Man that sucks!
I had something similar happen and although it looked rather minor the cost went up quickly.
The bad part is, even when everything is fix... you now have an accidented car
Also I don't think the insurance will pay for a replacement bumper but rather just have some putty work done on it...
GL!

I agree with others about putty work or plastic welding but you should consider longer term ramification of resale and factor that into the equation when dealing with the insurance, especially if this will be on record. It can hurt future resale if there is a record with carfax for example.

T.A.S. is paying out of pocket so no insurance claims. I guess that is good so it will not have a history of an accident but I do have the pictures to show it was cosmetic and not a major accident.
I have talked to the shop and told them that I want new parts. Bumper / fender / clear side markers / head light. I am trying to get the Carrera Aerokit II Bumper Cover since the bumper will be replaced.
I guess I will find out tonight. At least everything will be replaced with at least OEM parts.

As a shop owner I can attest to the fact that many times insurance companies have no problem going aftermarket as the cost is often much less than OE parts direct from Porsche... Quote the difference in price and they can be quite receptive. There is NO WAY I would let them plastic weld OR bondo a single spot on the car, thats not the way it was before the accident and that shouldn't be the repair performed... Thats why you pay them every month. I know you've said this was coming out of pocket so they should be much easier to work with when figuring out the ultimate cost of everything but NEVER let an insurance company cut corners for the cheapest fix possible - Always needs to be repaired as if it never happened.
If by "Pressing your luck" you mean being adamant that the repair is done to exceed or at the very least, meet the previous condition of the car thats simply poor advice. Always stick with it and raise hell until the car is absolutely right.
