NGK Spark Plugs

This thread is to clarify the difference between BKR6E and BKR6EK, which confused the F*** out of my until now. BKR6EK (2288) Has 2 ground receivers and BKR6E (6292) has only one. Both fit our cars , but might perform slightly different at different condition.

Hello

Yes you are correct, the benefit of this is so that when 1 ground electrode gets fouled it will use the 2nd and let the plug clean the first ground eletrode , thus making it a more foul prone design.

Thanks and have a nice day

Question BKR6EK 2288 Gap

I am confused as well. Someone in the forum said that they gapped them and another said it didn't. I went to this PDF: http://dtbmw.com/tips/SparkPlugChart.pdf
and it says that they are not adjustable. So which one is it? Do these need to be gapped out of te box?
I have a 2001 996 cab. Thank you

All of the NGK's I've used come pre-gapped, I do check them but they are usually correct out of the box. Same with the stock 4 prongers.

By the way, these were installed on my 996 today and it is amazing. It sounds like brand new.

I used the two prong when I replaced my spark plug tubes last month. I did not have to gap them and now my car runs better than before.
