stems for my instrument cluster

I ordered a set of clock and odometer set ***** for my 2002 C2 from the dealer. What I got was the caps with a female end that accepts the male stems that come out of the instrument panel. My used instrument panel has two holes, but they are female too...no stem. When I pulled the ***** off of my friends Porsche, there is a stem that goes into the instrument panel. In other words, there appears to be another piece that goes into the instrument panel then into the ***** I got from the dealer. The dealer says that the ***** are the only thing available for purchase, and that the stems must be part of the instrument cluster.

Is that right? How do these two ***** attach to the instrument panel?

Great Idea. Mine have been broken for a while. Yes - Definitely Porsche does NOT supply these unless you buy the whole cluster. I just sent an email to Brian.
