Right reverse light not working

The right reverse light is not working. I switched bulbs right to left and still the same problem. So I know it is not the bulb. Is this a Back-Up Lights Switch issue that will have to be replaced or something else?

Thanks

Copper

FLi GLi is infamous around these parts
I would recommend taking a multimeter to the offending bulb socket to see if you are getting power at the socket.

If no power at the socket, it could be the reverse switch or a short in the wiring to that socket. Seems odd to me that it would be the switch. I would think both bulbs would have stopped working if the switch was bad.

Also, try cleaning the offending bulb socket with some electrical contact cleaner. Might be some corrosion on the contacts in the bulb socket.

Cheers,

FLi

Also the tabs on the bulb socket might need bending and/or sanding.

If one works then it is not the switch.

OK so I pulled the tail light out again. This time I pulled out all the metal tabs to make sure that they were making contact, notta . When I pushed on the back part (black rubber) of the light assemble the light turned on. When I released the black it turned off again. Is there a way that I can pull off the black part or do I just order a new assembly?

Here is the picture of the assemble.

It's hard to tell for certain because the picture is blurry, but it looks like the black plastic part could be popped off to expose the leads for the wires. I do not know for sure. Never messed with that plug before.

There's only one way to find out...
