paint the lip or not..

I finally install the lip today after an incident with the railroad tracks....the body shop quoted me about $200-ish which is not bad..but I'm having 2nd thought about getting it paint..so should I leave it black or have it paint to match the bumper..What do you guys think?

here's a few pic of the new lip:

I would leave it ..... it's easier to touch up when it gets screwed up. I have a RUF front and ended up putting abs pieces underneath to keep it from chipping the paint when I hit things steep inclines, driveways etc.

If the sides are painted I'd paint the lip. If they arn't then I'd leave it.

I've got the same setup, and left mine black. I was just thinking the very first rub would cause the paint to flake, and it seems like it's a nightmare waiting to happen. However…if you do it and it works, then I would be tempted to follow suit.

Leave it. You have a dark car so it would blend in better anyways than if you had a light color car. My $.02

Unpainted. It is a wear item. You will end up replacing it every few years.

I have the same front bumper on mine along with Techart style side skirts. I left it unpainted because the front lip sits lower than the side skirts. This way the painted part of my front bumper matches the height with the side skirts to keep it more even looking from a side profile. The black lip does not stand out as much to make the car look front heavy (low) as it would if it were painted IMO.

Also, to the other postings it is a very low component that will be subject to road hazards and non-painted will probably hold up better visually.

I don't think painting it to match the car color is smart. But what I would do is spray it down with a black plastic spray paint. At least it would look finished and the paint is made to stick to plastic. If it gets scratched or dinged up you can spray it again. I had a lip on my till I tore it off getting into my driveway. Never put it on again, to much hassle trying to not scrap it on everything 3 inches or higher. But good luck either way.

If you live at a place where streets are made of velvet, go for it, paint it.
