40th Ann. 911 & Lemans party... Pic's and more

Many of you know there was a 40th Ann. of the 911 and re-release of Le Mans on DVD celebration at the Grove in Anaheim California today. The event was well done it was a shame to see the turn out was not so great! They had expected 500 cars to arrive. There was more cars that parked outside in the general parking lot then in the "show" area. I would estimate less then 50 cars on display and less then 200 people total. PCNA had a Cayenne running through a cone course while towing a track 911 on a trailer. Of course rides were free of charge.

European car Mag had a tech session with a live "how to" on swapping out the 996TT and C4S brakes for the new ceramic kit priced at $8,000 they took pictures throughout the installation for an upcoming article.

The event had a door charge of $20 which included a box lunch and a ticket to see the movie Le Mans on the big screen!

Before the movie Antonio Blah blah junior auctioned off a bunch of donated stuff... This is the best part! Auction items included...

Final bid prices:
Pair of 959 wheels that had been in a race $400 or so
a bunch of framed vintage posters of all sizes went for $100-$450
Porsche driving experience 2 day package $1700
Cayenne Driving experience 2 day package $1000
Bose desk stereo $500
2 Porsche wine glass sets $350
Porsche Varsity Jacket $200

The turn out was so poor which meant a lack of potential bidders... most of the crowd was older PCA guys driving early 911's and such... So most of the items sold for opening bid!

What did I walk away with? Well I picked up a PSE for $1000!!! and a 40th Annv car cover for $325 (paid almost double dealer list) but the bidding was fierce and I wanted it (Signed by Chad McQueen, Antonio Sabato, Sr, Antonio Sabato, Jr. and Vic Elford)

Well a funny event Antonio Sabatos father had one to many shots of Jack in the VIP room! He was helping his son with the auction and made for some great entertainment! It was quite funny!

Here are some pics wish there had been a better turnout for PCNA sake but for my sake I would not have gotten such a great deal!

Not much... I did not even notice the hue's were different!

I did notice how ****ty the wheels looked...It is semi polished looking wheel but has a rough almost orange peel look up close. IMHO it looked like **** it would be my first mod to replace!
