Update on wheels w/pics
I had wheels and tires installed today on my 99 Porsche NB. I purchased the Victor Equipment "Innsbruck" wheels. 19"x11" 55et rear w/ Michelin PS2 295/30x19. 19"x8" 45et front w/ Michelin PS2 225/35x19. Fronts fit perfectly, no problems with rubbing when turning or compression. Rears stick out a little, but no problems with rubbing or compression.

Thanks for the compliments. My son told me last night that I should now consider, in his words, "slamming it" with coilovers. It's at its OE height right now. If I lower the car I think I'll have to have the rear fenders rolled or have the suspension camber adjusted. The realignment of camber is not what I'd like to do considering the amount of $$$ paid for those PS2's.

Also, our 996's have a broad range of alignment adjustments, not to be confused with a wide spec tolerance (crappy tire store alignment). You can ask the aligment tech (if he's good) to set your alignment specs for "maximum tire wear", or various levels of aggressive / track driving.

You might want to have the alignment checked anyway after installing larger wheels. I have a 2004 996 C2 with 19x8.5 and 19x11 Champion RG5's. I was wearing out the inside tread on my rear tires at an alarming rate. A local indy mechanic told me that installing larger/wider wheels will probably alter the suspension geometry (too much camber, etc.). I had way too much camber and too much toe in on one rear wheel.
Going to be installing lowering springs, and then getting a new pair for the rear and then do an alignment..
thx for the info
