Update on wheels w/pics

I had wheels and tires installed today on my 99 Porsche NB. I purchased the Victor Equipment "Innsbruck" wheels. 19"x11" 55et rear w/ Michelin PS2 295/30x19. 19"x8" 45et front w/ Michelin PS2 225/35x19. Fronts fit perfectly, no problems with rubbing when turning or compression. Rears stick out a little, but no problems with rubbing or compression.

I'm new to owning Porsche's. The previous owner told me the rear spoiler is from the aero kit that was available in 1999 but I've been surfing the internet and saw one at www.mashaw.com

Thanks for the compliments. My son told me last night that I should now consider, in his words, "slamming it" with coilovers. It's at its OE height right now. If I lower the car I think I'll have to have the rear fenders rolled or have the suspension camber adjusted. The realignment of camber is not what I'd like to do considering the amount of $$$ paid for those PS2's.

Thanks for the photos, I believe it is important owners update us on their mods, now we know how do those VE's look on the car.

You might want to have the alignment checked anyway after installing larger wheels. I have a 2004 996 C2 with 19x8.5 and 19x11 Champion RG5's. I was wearing out the inside tread on my rear tires at an alarming rate. A local indy mechanic told me that installing larger/wider wheels will probably alter the suspension geometry (too much camber, etc.). I had way too much camber and too much toe in on one rear wheel.

Also, our 996's have a broad range of alignment adjustments, not to be confused with a wide spec tolerance (crappy tire store alignment). You can ask the aligment tech (if he's good) to set your alignment specs for "maximum tire wear", or various levels of aggressive / track driving.

ah ha... i did not know this... and my rear tires are wearing badly on the insides.

Going to be installing lowering springs, and then getting a new pair for the rear and then do an alignment..

thx for the info

Thanks for the tip! I didn't think the alignment would be that messed up if the wheel offset was close to OE. I'll get it checked soon.
