18mm wheel spacers

I'm about to order some wheel spacers for my 99 996 nb with 18" turbo twists. I'm set on getting 7mm for the front wheels. What I still have a concern with is whether 18mm rear spacers with a 265 rear tire well make my wheels stick to far out from the wheel well. What i'm looking for is to have the wheel flush with the widest part of the rear wheel well. Basically I don't want my car looking like a classic American muscle car with the wheels sticking way out from the car. Am I better off with 15mm for the rear?. Thanks in advance.

Need more info. Is the car lowered? What is your camber?
Both factors make a difference especially if you want it as flush as possible.
In general, 15mm spacer will make it a total of 50mm offset (65mm factory-15mm=50mm). That is very close to the edge of the wheel well but it won't stick outside even if your camber was 0, which I doubt.
Now with the 18mm spacer, even thought I don't think it'll stick out, it's going to be very close depending on height(lowered or not) and camber. But, you're using 265 on a 10 inch wheel(I'm assuming you have the 996 twist not the boxster twist wheel as I believe they are 9 inch) so even if the wheel itself sticks out just a little, it don't look bad.

Stock 18" turbo twists. Stock stock suspension. Everything wheel related is stock.

If you're stock susp, I'd say go for it. Esp. since you have 265's. If you had 295's, I would have gone no more than 15mm's.

BTW, you can always go inbetween like a 16mm or 17mm.

I think 17mm might be the way to go. One way or the other, I'm putting spacers on.

Well you have 2 options then. Factory 17mm spacer or custom. Either way, it'll look better than stock.

My car had the turbo wheels on it when I bought it with 15mm spacers and 285/30's on the rear and they just came to the edge of the wheelwell.

Suncoast has 18mm RSS spacers for $190. Realize that 15's wouuld be safer on stock twists, but this car is lowered 1.75" and has some negative camber. The thought is that the camber puts the top of the tire inward, giving an awkward look. Tires are 295 Sumi's. Will 3mm make that much difference, or is it going to look like the Flintstonemobile...
