Any guess

My driver window goes down when i open it from inside or outside but it goes back up again when i release the handles... i thought it maybe the micro switch but i don't think it is... When i have the door open and push down on the part that latches on to the striker the window goes down and stays, so my guess is it's worn out from repeated use from years so the striker is not as thick as it use to be there for it's not pushing the latch far down enough . Could it be that i need a new latch or may be a new striker I tried greasing the latch assembly by spraying grease in there and also trying to work it by hand but still not working the way it suppose...
Anyone else had this problem .

It's your window regulator.

jetskied is infamous around these parts
There is a micro switch in the door latch that goes bad. The reason is that it goes down when you pull up on the door handle is that its telling the window to go down, then as soon as you release the door handle is that the sensor in the door latch mechanism is broken and sense that the door is closed so the window goes up. The bad news is that that the microswitch is not sold seperate and you have to buy the whole door latch mechanism. Its about $200 at Sunset for the part and I can't say how much labor because it is something I do myself.

I agree with the microswitch diagnosis. The problem doesn't sound like a window regulator.

Same thing happened with my 996; had the microswitch fixed, problem went away; good luck.
