Retrofitting a PCM from 2002 c4s into my 2000 c2?
Hey guys,
Wondering if this is possible (pcm1)? is the wiring already in place or will I have to modify/cut things?
Thanks!
Paul

This may be a challenge as I think 2002 what's the year Porsche went to the bus system. If so there are compatibility issues. Also, the reality is that Porsche has not really continued support of the PCM systems, and a modern GPS, or even the GPS built into most smart phones are lift years ahead of anything more than a year or two old.

Thanks for the feedback.
ok, I suppose I shall see if anyone else can chip in. I really am looking to upgrading to something stock and clean looking. I fully understand that this navi will be behind in it's routes and streets, but to be honest, want to do this more for the factory look of the dash. I will still probably use my phone for navigation as it talks all the directions out.
So main thing, is hooking it up..
here are actually this items I am talking about. I figure they may end up as a really good deal as there doesn't seem to be much demand for these units, and shouldn't be many bids (unless, I am probably now creating more competition for myself! lol)

You will also need the GPS antenna, not sure if the one from the PCM1 is compatible. And you do need to determine if this unit is designed for the newer MOST Bus or the older wired system. Good luck though.
I have also wanted to stay with the OEM look so while I have upgraded all my speaker and amp I still have the CDR220 in the dash.

Thanks for feedback Dennis,
I think the biggest question is the wiring.... I am wondering if there is wiring that is already behind the dash for the unit...
This seems like a really good deal!
