Best Plugs? Bosch or NGK / for both longevity and performance

Which is the superior plug. My Indy says he likes NGK, but the Bosch that are currently in the car are running great. He also said he like the two prong vs 4. Which runs better and lasts longest? Can someone knowledgable help point me in the right direction. I like using the best and price of plugs is not an issue. Thanks.

The consensus from various users has been NGK including myself. Common attributes are smoother idle and running characteristics among others.

I just put in new NGK's, but now have a slightly rough idle with my 996 C2. The Buru plugs were doing better. The Bosch plugs work great in my 996TT. I would stick with copper, but just have to replace them more often...30,000 miles.

I also did a muffler bypass during my plug change. I'm hoping the car adjusts to the changes after driving a bit. I have always had great results with NGK's in my other cars.

So even though you did a muffler bypass and plugs at the same time, you're attributing your rough idle to the plugs themselves?

I did my plugs. Went with NGK. The original Beru were still there. Per my mechanic, he likes the NGKs over the Bosch or Beru plugs. So that's what I went with. No complaints here.

However lots of folks are "OE or nothing" types of folks.

Alpine, The second post was me remembering I also did a muffler bypass. That's why I posted that statement. Sorry for any confusion. I did mention I have NGK's in all my other 4 cars, but not my 996TT, and never had a complaint. I'm not sure if the plug or the muffler bypass is making my idle a bit rough. It still runs great. The idle is a little rough. Has anyone on here done a muffler bypass and had a bit of a rough idle? Just curious. Thanks.

The Bosch plugs are running great. And you want to change why?

I've had the plugs changed in my Boxster more than a few times (270K miles) and a couple of times in my Turbo (110K miles) and I just have the tech install whatever part # comes up on the Porsche parts computer.

Both engine run great and I do not have to think about plugs until it is time to replace them again.

The NGK's might afford your tech a bit more profit margin could by why he likes them.
