The valet crashed my car...ughh!

I'm meeting a friend for breakfast and pull into the Waldorf Astoria Park City. I tell the valet not to take it over the one big curb as it will scrape and preferably leave it up front. I turn around and am checking emails on my phone when I hear a crunch. Poor kid rolled into the van in front of me while trying to get it in reverse...and my bumper is literally under it. Ripped a nice 5" gash into the fiberglass and cracked a lot of paint. The techart light cover is also ripped a bit too. Bummer, but all fixable and the guy was just ghost white and horrified...as was I.

. Sorry to hear it, but like you said, all fixable and no one got hurt, so it could be worse.

I'll bet that removable hardtop gets lots of use in Park City.

You are right / all fixable and nobody died. Yes, the top is coming off for the season very soon. I just bought a new lift for it to keep it up and out of the way.

Damn sorry about that ... thats my nightmare also .. I live in westchester NY .. and its nice when I go out in NYC for a night with the car ... but I cringe every time leaving my car with a valet garage ... especially because when I was young I used to valet, and I know what sometimes goes on .... it could have been worse ... one question, is the valet service taking care of the bill?

Yes, three people saw the whole thing happen. I think they have to accept liability unless it is a questionable ding, ie: they don't know if it was there before, etc. Who knows, but I am a spa member there and they are usually very cool and good...no issues since it opened 3 years ago. Well, new bumper coming soon.

Ok cool ... yea, when I used to valet when I was a teen .. the valet company has insurance so it should be taken care of ... unless its not a private company they are using ... but like you said, you are a member there so it shouldn't be a problem ... yea man, always look at the bright side ... you are getting a new bumper and most likely your old bumper had some chips anyway, I am sure ... let me give you some advice since it will be new ... go get the 3M Clear Bra on there ... never have another chip again ...

I'm trying to track down my exact bumper. Yours looks very similar. Is it a GT3 aero by Precision Porsche? Or what is it....thanks. I want to get on this and get it done so I don't waste too much topless weather with a beat up bumper. Gotta keep it looking good you know!

My Aero kit was installed from the dealer when it was brand new ... I still have the original window sticker somewhere ... I will look for it today and see what exactly it says
