Best way to lower a C4S?
Would like my 04 C4S to be a little lower, I know springs is the cheapest way to go, but I really want to retain a good ride quality... coil overs the best way to go? I have read some coil overs can squeak and rattle... any suggestions. I only want to drop the car 1 or 1.5", nothing extreme, just less feel gap with a nice ride. Thanks

I've been considering suspension upgrades for my C4S. I'd like to go with the X73 option, and I'm also considering PSS10s. I haven't decided which way to go yet. Everyone who I know that has gone with the X73/X74 upgrade has been very pleased.

Depends...
1) If its your Weekend Car, just do the Spring
2) if its your Daily Driver then do the Springs and Shocks
3) its if you plan to Track your car do Coil Overs...
There is no sense to do Coil Overs if you are only gonna drive the Car on Sunny Weekends...
For me i have Coilovers for the Past 6 Years now i put 110k on them... I DD my car all year around, Raise it for the Snow in the Winter and Slam it for the Summer. And i beat the **** out of it at the Track which i do on a Monthly Baises includes Winter/Snow Track Time :P

I drive the car every single day... likely wont track it much at all, but it will see snow and long road trips... which coil overs are you running?

The X73/X74 will definitely take away the "nice ride" I think you are referring to if you mean the stock feel. But it will also definitely lower the car nicely. I've heard that the RoW sport suspension is a nice compromise of a bit of lowering without unduly changing the ride quality. But both of these Porsche options are non-adjustable.

Im running Bilstein PSS9's, i have had them for 6 years now and put over 110km on them with no issues. Daily Driver. I Raise it up for the Winter which is about 1" lower than stock height, throw on my roof racks and head to teh ski hills and then Slam it in the Spring time for Summer and head to the track.

do it right with coilovers. The others wil not have the same ride, prematurely wear components etc.

I personally have H&R Springs and I have had no issues. But as someone mentioned above, it will put some wear and tear on your other suspension items. Coilovers is the way to go since it's adjustable with camber, toe etc. That's if you are going to be doing some serious driving. If you are looking for affordable, springs. If you can spend roughly 2500 for coil's and install, do it. You won't be dissapointed. PSS10's are awesome.
