2002 C4 cab with the electric seats...trying to remove to repair/replace the electric motor that moves the seats forward and back...but its a catch 22....

The electric motor was intermittant, but now it is inop... therefore, i cant move the seat forward enough to remove the bolts on the rear rails to get the seat out.

All the other electric functions on the seat work fine.

maybe i should have done the repair while it was still "intermitant"?

Does anyone know of a way to bypass the electric motor in order to move the seat forward enough to remove the rear bolts?

 

maybe you can raise height of the seat to get to the bolts?

 

Try a torx wrench. I forget the size of the head on the seat bolts but here is a link to a source for a set:

With a flat wrench like this and raising the seat you can probably get the bolts out.
