Horn Button Relocate for Momo Detachable Steering Wheel

I have a Momo steering wheel with a detachable hub spacer on my 996. I also live in a city where horns are essential. I picked up a small black pusher button on ebay, and got a Boxster A/C surround from the junk yard. The place where my windshield wiper speed control was on the 996 was a blank plug on the Boxster surround. Needless to say, I no longer use the windshield wiper speed control, but that doesn't really matter since I never drive the car in the rain anyway.

Hooked everything up, and it looks quite subtle. I debated forever on where to put the button, but am happy with my choice. Now I have my horn back, and can still detach my steering wheel when I leave the car parked. So for those of you thinking about getting the detachable steering wheel, but worried about losing your horn; don't worry about it. Very easy to relocate to nearly anywhere on the dash area. The space between the A/C console and the steering wheel electronics has a nice big hole where you can easily route the wires back and forth. You only need to put a pusher button between the two brown horn wires. Easy to do if you are already in there soldering a resister for the airbag light.

Do you loose the clock ring when installing the Momo hub and wheel?

The mechanism that turns off the blinker when you turn the wheel.

Hmm, now that you mention it, I think I did remove that. I got so used to just activating and deactivating the turn signal by hand, I totally didn't even notice it.

Looks like a clean install but based on some of the crazy Korean taxi driver's, are you gonna be able to react fast enough to look for and push the horn while still keeping your eyes on the idiot in front of you to avoid that accident?

Are you stationed over there or doing some work abroad, or are you native?

People here generally drive poorly, and without regard for the law, because police never enforce traffic laws here. It's deadly dangerous at intersections especially, because the locals ignore red lights with no consideration that they themselves might die if they get smashed by another car.
