Hard Rubber vs standard motor mounts

Since I lowered my C2 with PSS9s, I was thinking of installing the "Hard Rubber" motor mounts as shown by deutschepartsusa on ebay, on "sale" this week. Are these the same as RS mounts anyone know? Or a different one altogether. I know they are not the same same as the OEs but others have given them high marks for quality. They do not look like the ones that Gert sells. Are the standard OE's oil filled?

Why? Why would you change anything when the original factory mounts are fine? If it ain't broke......

Actually, I just upgraded to the RS engine mounts and am very happy with the result. You can feel a slight rumble/vibration at idle but the shifting is definitely improved and the overall car feel at speed seems tighter with the mounts. My old ones had 90k on them...

Ten year old oil filled motor mounts may not be broken, but they get sloppy and softer with age. Have narrowed my choices to the Porsche RS ($400) or Turbo ones from Pelican ($200). Anyone use the Pelican ones? Leaning towards RS, but the increased vibration in the car is a consideration. Anyone in the Richmond area with RS mounts? (yeah, right..so few 996s around here, I still get thumbs up and questions ..with a 10 year old car..)

If you're after straight replacements, then Pelican would be fine or if you want performance, I would rather spend the $200 extra on the RS. I have turbo mounts now and not too much of a difference.

I changed to RS mounts when I experienced a sideways movement when coming off the gas after hard acceleration. A little more vibration and some resonance at certain revs, but and this is a big BUT: significantly better stability coming on/off the gas during cornering, better shifting and significantly better accelerator response. I would not go back to OEM mounts again.
