so my 996 is currently getting ready for paint. it is being pianted with PPG 224009 lambo's ballon white, with satin clear. i have the gt3 wheels on it, switching to the roderick rw5 soon. but i am unsure if i should do gloss black or matte black on the wheels gt3 as well as rw5. opinions. headlights and tail lights are being blacked out too. so far i have done intake and exhaust work. need opinions

Nice choice of color i would choose the Matte finish. What is the paint job going to cost? I'm looking at doing my 99 Cab. after summer.

that satin clear coat, gives it a matte finish. i found out about it somewhere in the forum. it was done on a gallardo. will let you know in a few days. currently deployed under OEF have a buddy handling everything for me.

Post some pictures when you get it done! I would't black out the tail lights if I were you, think might be a little too much, but if you do, just do it very light. Good color choice.

Interested to see how this round of mods turns out for you Andy.

Not to criticize, but as I've listed out theoretical modifications on my 01 C4, I've usually put intake and chip/tuning ahead of headers which I've read don't offer a substantial improvement.

Post pics of the car with wheels please!

Any more info on that audio system you're doing next? I'm currently in the process of upgrading the kit in my car and looking forward to installing a Kenwood double DIN later this month when I return back from my own 'deployment'.

I'm just working abroad for an extended period which really curbs my ability to indulge in automobile geekery and wrenchmonkey knuckling.

Interested to hear more about your imporessions of the intake and tune. I've hesitated thus far in putting any performance mods whatsoever on the car but the heart wants what it wants, you know.

System sounds pretty good. I couldn't find information on the JL website about the stealth box. I'm considering options for subwoofers at the moment and might play around with the fiberglass to create a sealed enclosure for a single 10'' sub in one of the rear seat wells. I've currently got a custom box sitting on the parcel shelf and I'm just not happy with the space utilization and visibility from outside the vehicle.

Do mufflers and cats , forget everything else performance wise it does nothing! I would get a good set of coilovers and the handling will be transformed. The rest sounds good, post pics.

The aerokit looks worlds better on a 996.1 than a 996.2, but of course you'll need to do that before the paint job

it has full gt3 kit on it. the original owner had a gt3 that had a blown motor, so he took all the suspension parts, aero kit, interior, everything, and did a swap.
