3K mile roadtrip in the 996 to RI for the Porsche Show (pics)
My Dad was helping to organize a Porsche event at Inskip Porsche in Rhode Island last weekend. The wife and I thought it would be fun to make the drive up there and surprise him at the show. I contacted a friend of his who was also working at the show. He got us entered and reserved a nice spot for us. My Dad was totally shocked. Great surprise.
Hell of a long drive from FL though. Worked out to about 21 hours of driving time each way. We stopped for the night to break it up some. The Valentine saved my *** numerous times and had more than payed for itself at this point. The clear bra also held up extremely well. Only ended up with a couple very small chips on the lower sides of the bumpers, just pass where the clear bra stops. Can't imagine what it would have looked like without the bra. Gotta thank inskip for letting me use their 5000 square foot detail shop. Had about 6 individual bays, complete with their own high pressure water wand, vacs, wheel cleaner, bug remover, compressed air, hot and cold water, and clips to hang the mats. Too cool. Would love to do that in my garage. I'm sorry I didn't get a pic of that setup.
The show was great. Met lots of cool people. They had some fantastic cars there. A lot of really nice cars showed up at the end of the day, after I stowed my camera away of course. Kind of a neat event, where the attendees voted for their favorite cars in each class. Kind of a cool way of doing. We won runner up for the 996 class. Not too shabby.
Enjoy the pics. By the way, the speedster was actually a trade in at the dealer. What was that person thinking???

Wish there was faster way to post these pics other than cutting and pasting each URL link. Wheeeww...what a pain in the ***. The forum will only allow you to link so many pics at a time, so I had to break it up some.

Oh, and by the way...19" wheels, sport suspension, and New England roads is a really bad combination. Now I know why most people up there run stock wheels. You could lose a small child in some of those potholes
