And at 5,000 rpm sounds like it is red lining. 78K miles, had IMS shaft bearing replaced around 60K miles.

Any ideas?

Could be the clutch slipping.

I've also heard from previous threads that if the voltage on your MAF gets whacked due to being dirty your car will feel very sluggish. Try to pull and clean your MAF...worth a try for cheap and an hour or so. People have reported the power to be back after cleaning. Look up MAF DIY's. Good luck!

If the rpms climb and you don't gain speed the clutch is slipping.

Is there "power loss" as you press the gas pedal there is less power or is (as others have stated) the engine revs without hesitation and you don't move faster? If it's the latter, it's your clutch. If it's the former, then you're starving for something - gas or air.

Thanks everyone. Sounds like the clutch is slipping. Clutch was replaced the same time as IMS bearing, so maybe that is it?
Power seems normal around 1,000-3500 rpms. Once rpms get slightly passed that, the engine gets very loud and sounds like its around 6,000 rpms and the usual power isn't there.

I agree with a slipping clutch. But, 18K on a new clutch? There has to be more to this issue. Have you altered the exhaust system or air intake in any way? Your power band seem to be taking a hit somewhere.

Do you have a problem starting the car? If you do, check the alternator not giving enough juice at high rpm. It happened to me at the track and it was a failing alternator.

Many people are finding bad voltage regulators at 10+ years.
