Vortech Supercharger oil drain line?

Someone correct me if the picture below is where I think the SC oil drain line is connected-Picture is of drive belt side - right head of engine. As I was loosening and pulling out the plug it just felt/looked like it maybe supporting some internals, which made me nervous. I could'nt find it in my manual on what this pulg is for. Many Thanks

That looks like it, 2" to the right of the crank pulley at the 2 o'clock position on the passenger side of the block, it is an aluminum hex cap screw and recieves the drain oil by gravity to the oil resivoir of the engine. Will

After reading your reply on oil drain.

The hex plug for the oil drain is different then the one in the picture above and maybe this one that's closer to the crank pulley, I added another picture of the one that is closer to the crank pulley for your verification on which one.

Thanks Will

Here is a pic of it on a 3.4. Right next to the crank pulley.

Yup, it's oil. When I removed the drain line from the SC, I put the end in the aftercooler so it would be out of the way. Just wiped it clean afterwards.

interesting, the mounting bracket and lower discharge pipe do not look like VF/EVO parts. we also never shiped any non-polished supercharger units as shown in these pics.

sounds like someone is fishing for info to make their own kit with potential commercial motives. i would suggest existing EVO kit owners keep their information to themselves. in the event that I am wrong then you would not mind giving us your serial# to match to our records?

I had a tough time with the above post because I LUV to build cars for my own personnel use and have been doing so for over 35 years and this is my first Porsche my dream car and as most new cars are unfamiliar with it. In my experience it has been the sharing of information that creates better performing and dependable machines, but am happy to see that you see my system built from scratch to be in completion with yours "thanx for the compliment". I was going to take a poll on this board since most have been very helpful if they wanted to see how it was done and for those who wanted a hands on approach, now I'm rethinking this because of your cenacle response to just the bottom line. Sometimes it's a good thing to know how to repair some things on the road when and if there arenĂ¢â‚¬â„¢t any garages or cell usage for 50 miles especially in mid summer Arizona.
