99-01 NB Wheel Question Answered!

After reading dozens of threads and contacting several wheel vendors.

When it comes to 19" Wheels on a 99-01 911 NARROW BODY!

FRONT: 19x8.5 et45mm using 235/35/19 Tires.
REAR: 19x11 et52mm using 315/25/19 Tires.

If the car is lowered, rolling fenders is required.

I don't think you will fit 315 tire with 52 offset even with rolled fenders.
I got same setup and max is 295 on mk1 unless you do crazy aligment.

The problem with dozens of threads on tire/wheel size/widths is that most of them contradict each other. I too have been reading (probably the same) threads with total confusion. One calculator gives offsets. One will give changes in dimensions.... One thread says 315, one says 305 one says..... Once your roll fenders or change suspension height - everything goes out the windows. I'm just going to keep my factory rims and tire size. Much simpler that way.

I tend to agree with this post. Within this forum, I also see many inconsistencies with aftermarket wheel plus sizing. Remaining stock is simpler. However, plus sizing is just as simple given those who are applying the plus sizing truly understand OEM vs aftermarket dimensions.

http://wheeldynamics.com/appguide.php

The issue with a 315/25/19 is not that many tires made in that size.

I'm looking at using 235/35ZR19 & 305/30ZR19 with Michelin Cup Tires.

I have no choice. I have to get more traction to the ground! 225 & 265 cant handle 470hp. I have M030 Suspension and looking to go with 235/35/19 & 305/30/19 and Michelin Cup Series tires for when I'm at the track.

+1. Your proposed setup of 19x11 et 52 with 305/30/19 will not fit a mk1 996 or even a mk2 996.

You might be able to do 19x11 et 63 (18x11 et 63 was the GT3 size) with a 305/30/19.

My brain has seriously melted from reading so many damn threads and email so many wheel vendors.

I know I want to run Michelin Cup Tires, so I'm limited in sizes and im going insane with so many people recommending different wheel sizes and off-sets.

I'm running Victor's, 19x11 et55, with 295/30x19 Michelin PS2's on the rear and I had to roll the fenders.

If the goal is to improve appearance of the vehicle, then I can see the desire to go to a 19" wheel. They look very nice. If the goal is performance and/or track work, then I can't see why anyone would do it. The potential benefits don't outweigh the potential pitfalls.
