Micro bypass switch
My old Pioneer radio just wasn't cutting it anymore.It was time i took my 99 and updated it with some modern technology,haha.
Radio:Kenwood DDX-719 $398.00
iPod/iPhone Connector:$29.99
eBrake Bypass:$13.00
Porsche 996 Double Din Install kit:$165.00
The double din kit i got off ebay was perfect and made the install very easy. It came with step by step direction and came with everything you need to go from single to double din. http://www.ebay.com/itm/99-01-PORSCH...item3375a80f35
The head unit has bluetooth and works great with the iPhone. It works with most apps on the screen. I can use my slingbox player app and have cable tv on my car's screen. Also works with maps,youtube,netflix and a few more. I bought a back up camera and will be installing it this weekend.

Did you have to install a Microbypass switch or did you hook up a switch to the parking brake?
I had my garage folk install my Pioneer double Din CarPlay capable headunit but they never hooked up the parking brake switch. Couldn’t upgrade the firmware until I installed a switch....

You have to be careful if you try to bypass the parking brake switch... A GPS-capable head unit will know when the car is moving and will shut you down if you bypass the switch. A proper install using the real parking brake switch is the way to go to avoid problems. (Don't ask me how I know)
