C4S Plastic Inserts in rear bumper slats removal?

Has anyone ever taken out the plastic inserts on the turbo slats of the rear bumper?

Ours have plastic in them, the TT has em open and it looks WAY better. I'm thinking of taking mine off but wondering if anyone has done this? thanks

They're just wide open on the turbo cars? I'll have to look for a photo...

I found them on a pic. They are more open. I'm not really sure why they are designed like that, but they are...

Yep you can see right through em on the TT, it gives it more of an aggressive look and more pronounced as the plastic insides seem "busy" and open slats just flow better...I cant imagine they are too hard to pull out once the bumper is off..

Mine are not "closed" per say as part of the plastic, there is a heat shield behind it that gives the appearence of being closed. You could just cut that part of the shield off and then it would be open.

So, it's not the plastic part that is closing it it's the heat shield.

It might not look good to have them open on the C4S because of the mufflers and heat shields that aren't there on the turbo cars...

I can see the heat shields through mine, I would think if they were open perhaps a little more air would flow over the mufflers cooling them, maybe?

They are not open on a turbo. There is black plastic behind there. It is the exit for the intercoolers.

I thought about this as well but without the heat shield it seems like you could end up warping the bumper cover.

There are heat shields over the muffler, and they would most likely be visible through the opening.

I think that all the C4S cars have the small slit openings.
