3rd party warranty

Hi there, I have a question that seems pretty easy but want to makes sure I am right. I bought a 3rd party extended warranty, the platinum series which covers literally everything except airbags and safety features.
I am changing my tires to winter ones... does it affect my warranty if I get it done at a tire / service shop instead of the dealership?

thanks

nope. Only way for anything to affect warranty you have to change somethign that directly caused your issue for warranty claim. I also have platinum care plan through lexus. Paid for itself the first time I used it. Saved me from a $1400 bose amplifier replacement.

I got mine from the dealer because I felt it was more reliable in paying.

Wasn't sure if this was directed at the O.P. or not but I can answer anyways.

I purchased mine from the dealership that I work at (a chrysler jeep dodge ram dealership). I purchased the warranty at cost. I bought a 3 yr 36000 mile platinum protection plan from lexus/toyota service contracts with zero deductable which covers everything except for rubber. It ended up running me around $1500. Expect to pay a bit more since most dealers will want to make some money off of you unless your hooked up. With my plan I can take it to any dealership of my choice and it even covers rental cars while my car is in for service. Couldn't be happier with it and I am considering renewing the warranty before it expires.

It's been written about extensively. Look up extended service (it's not a warranty), and warranty and you'll find many, many threads. I have had one on my last four vehicles. I've never seen a negative story about one that was legitimate. People who have problems with them usually are not following the rules or trying to get something covered that's not in their service plan.
