Installing some new interior pieces and my ipod. Came across four female prong black connector behind the batwing that is not hooked up to anything. There are four wires leading into it. Thought this was odd. Any idea what it is and if it's supposed to be hooked up?

It is the cell phone connection which is on the same circuit as the gasoline vapor eleminator. If it shorts out it will blow a fuse and you won't be able to fill your gas tank. I had this happen and found an obscure thread on renntec.org that briefly mentioned this rare problem. My dealer had no clue and wanted to replace the whole system. Thanks again to you rennlisters. Just a new fuse and some duct tape and it was fixed. Will

good info. probably wrap some tape around it while the dash is apart to be on the safe side.
