Questions about Powder Coating calipers
1) who's the best to do the work? Anyone on the east coast?
2) do they offer core/exchange to minimize down-time?
3) Do they put on new porsche lettering?
4) How much should I expect to pay for them to be power coated? Install cost?

corey - i researched this extensively when I swapped for red calipers last year. The good powder coaters will charge about $100-150 per caliper. So about $500 plus shipping & handling.
However, I discovered that Boxster S calipers are identical to 996 calipers except that they are red. So I just bought brand new calipers directly from Porsche(via dealer) for ~ $1250 and sold my old calipers(1 yr old w/ 7000miles) for $700.
My biggest fear was the effect of the heat from powder coating on the existing gaskets, seals, etc... Last thing I would want was catastrophic brake failure why barrelling down the highway

i listed them on eBay with no reserve and that's what they got bid up to.
i sold my old '03 front bumper for $150 to a local used car dealer but i had several other offers. just don't ask too much for it...

i had sandoval do mine for me. as far as the heat from pc'ing. i could be wrong, but it was my understanding that pc'ing temps don't really get much higher than a tough day at the track. no probs so far with mine (knock on wood)
