Double Barrel Exhaust Tips - Any experience with these...

Hi guys! I'm contemplating on replacing my stock exhasut tips with these nice looking double barrel ones. The last time I got stainless chrome headers off ebay, they turned bluish brown Since the tips are anyway far from the source of the extensive heat would they at least retain the nice shiny chrome finish look? Anyone who bought these and would like to share their experience with these exhaust tips on ebay would greatly be appreciated! TIA!

The ones you are looking at on eBay are cheap and will not last long. I tried a pair once and within a few months the welds cracked and they fell apart. I used the FabSpeed Quad tips for a while with good success before turbo'ing my car.

Looks has nothing to do with it. You will be disappointed in the quality of the metal and the welds. They will last a few months then break. A good set of high quality tips will run you @$300+

Guys, thank you for the inputs. Now help me decide here whether to go with the Fabspeed quad tips versus those overlapping pipes. I'm sure there is no added HP here but is there a change in sound or is this just for aesthetics?

I have the Maxspeed on my car... very nice look, but when I added the GT3Tek diffuser it became a tight fit. LOL

I had the Schnell Turbo type tips, they were good but too short for the 996 body. I switched last year to the Fab-speed 997 style twin tips. Look much better and are long enough to look the part when viewed from the side. Mention you are a 6 speed online member and I think you will get a discount.
