When Todd at Evo dynoed my car he showed me some dyno curves on 2 X51 cars with the SC and their hp numbers were almost identical, with less torque low end and the same peak hp. It did not make any sense to me but he also said that exhaust mods like headers and muffler bypasses or sport cats did not help either, and may decrease the torque numbers. Will

One advantage to the X51 is that it already has the motorsport oil pan setup which prevents oil scavanging if you race on the track. If this solution is added after purchase even though it is genuine porsche parts, it voids your warranty.

Maybe because the x51 is designed for more top end performance and with a supercharger, they reduce the redline and eliminate some of the top end, so maybe this counteracts each other...

But it has all the upgraded motorsport engine parts worth the price alone since they are stronger and made for track. I don't think they will use the GT3 block anymore in NA models and just use these upgrades on the 3.8 for the new GT3 so you might as well make the investment now on the stronger motor so that if you supercharge it, the motor should last longer.
